Repro Operator - Packaging

Summary: The Repro Operator/Artworker role is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in West Yorkshire, focusing on preparing customer artwork files for print production within a busy reprographics team. The position requires attention to detail and familiarity with design software, with opportunities for extension and an earlier start. The role involves collaboration with technical teams to ensure high-quality output in packaging for various industries. Candidates with experience in preproduction and print are preferred but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Check and prepare customer supplied artwork files for print.
• Proofing and creating prototypes.
• Liaise with the in-house technical team to achieve optimal results.
• Maintain a high level of quality and attention to detail.
• Follow procedures and guidelines systematically.
• Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Skills:

• Experience in artworking and setting up files for print production.
• Familiarity with Mac and Adobe Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
• Understanding of various file types (PDF, Ai, TIFF).
• Technical knowledge of colour profiles, image resolution, and spot colours.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain organization.
• Experience with GMG Colour Proofing system and file preparation.
• Knowledge in imposing and plate making is beneficial.
• Experience in retouching and colour correcting using Adobe Photoshop.
• Understanding of packaging/net layouts and design considerations.
• Background in litho printing is advantageous.
