Summary: We are seeking a senior z/OS Transaction & Network Engineer to optimize IBM mainframe transaction and network environments for high-volume enterprise and retail workloads. The role emphasizes CICS/IMS transaction systems and z/OS networking, ensuring performance and availability in a 24/7 production setting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience and be responsible for both transaction processing and network connectivity. This position is remote, available only to candidates in the USA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and support CICS and/or IMS Transaction Manager
- Ensure high availability and performance for online transactions
- Transaction tuning, throughput optimization, and capacity analysis
- Strong experience in 24/7 production support, incidents, and RCA
- Supporting upgrades, patches, and subsystem maintenance
- Deep knowledge of VTAM, TCP/IP, and SNA

The client is seeking a senior, hands-on z/OS Transaction & Network Engineer who can own both online transaction processing and mainframe network connectivity in a 24/7, high-volume enterprise (retail-style) environment.

Key Responsibilities:-
Transaction Systems:
- Install, configure, and support CICS and/or IMS Transaction Manager (IMS TM) environments
- Ensure high availability, performance, and stability of online transaction processing systems
- Perform transaction performance tuning, capacity analysis, and workload optimization
- Support 24/7 production environments, incident response, and root cause analysis
- Manage upgrades, patches, and maintenance for transaction subsystems
- Collaborate with application teams to support transaction design and throughput improvements
Network & Connectivity:
- Administer and support z/OS network components, including VTAM, TCP/IP, and SNA
- Configure and manage mainframe-to-distributed connectivity (MQ, FTP, APIs, sockets)
- Troubleshoot network latency, connectivity, and transaction flow issues
- Support network security, certificates, and encryption standards
- Coordinate with enterprise network teams for end-to-end connectivity
General Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze system and transaction performance using OMEGAMON, RMF, and SMF
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements
