Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the year-end close-down process and production of the Statement of Accounts
  • Managing working papers and audit queries

  • Overseeing balance sheet control and reconciliations
  • Supporting delivery of CIES, MiRS and notes to accounts
  • Engaging senior stakeholders across finance and the wider organisation

Key Skills:

  • CCAB qualification (CIPFA / ACA / ACCA / CIMA) - essential
  • Significant Local Authority financial reporting / year-end experience
  • Proven track record delivering Statement of Accounts
  • Strong experience managing external audit relationships
  • Ability to operate at Senior Manager / Head of level

Interim Year-End Close / Financial Reporting Lead

Spencer Clarke Group are working closely with a Local Authority to appoint an Interim Year-End Close / Financial Reporting Lead to support delivery of the Council's statutory accounts and year-end close process.

This is a senior interim assignment focused on leading the Statement of Accounts (SoA) process, managing audit relationships, and ensuring a robust and compliant close-down.

The Role

The successful candidate will take a lead role in delivering the Council's year-end close and statutory reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely audit delivery.

About You
