Summary: An excellent opportunity exists for a Qualified Year-End Accountant to join a leading charity on a temporary basis, focusing on the delivery of statutory accounts and the Annual Report. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare statutory accounts across two finance systems and liaise with external auditors
- Post year-end adjustments for both income and expenditure
- Provide detailed supporting schedules, documentation, and clear explanations
- Work with the financial accounts team to progress statutory accounts from draft through to final sign-off
- Review draft accounts, including cash flow statements, control account reconciliations, and supporting working papers
- Process accounting adjustments as requested by auditors
- Support the Finance Team with financial data cleansing in accordance with data retention policies
- Carry out additional duties as required to assist the finance function
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA)
- 3–5 years post-qualification experience in senior finance roles, ideally within the charity or housing sector
- Demonstrated experience in preparing statutory accounts and managing audits for large organisations
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS102 and Charity SORP
- Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other standard office applications
- Professional, collaborative, and methodical approach, with a commitment to ongoing development
