PLEASE NOTE: This is a 5 month contract to hire and needs to meet Client full-time conversion policies. Those dependent on a work permit sponsor now or anytime in the future (ie H1B, OPT, CPT, etc) do not meet Client requirements for this opening.

Sun Life is seeking API Operations Consultants to support critical API integrations
between Sun Life and our trading partners. In this professional, client-facing
role, you ll manage the end-to-end API implementation lifecycle from
requirements gathering and configuration through functional testing and initial
production support. You ll work independently under defined standard operating
procedures (SOPs), demonstrating sound judgment and strong problem-solving
skills.

This role blends technical understanding, relationship management, and excellent
project coordination skills to deliver seamless digital connectivity for clients
across the insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients during API integration projects
• Lead kickoff calls and coordinate among internal teams, clients, brokers, and trading partners
• Manage project timelines, dependencies, and key milestones for successful API deployments
• Perform API configuration and testing based on SOPs
• Facilitate smooth transitions from testing to production, including post-production hypercare support
• Provide post-production configuration changes related to renewals and amendments as needed
• Resolve routine data exchange issues and escalate more complex matters appropriately
• Maintain accurate project documentation and perform regular follow-ups to ensure successful outcomes
• Provide general support for API-related inquiries via shared email support queues
• Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives

Must-Have Technologies & Tools:

• MS Office Suite documentation, communication, and project tracking
• JIRA tracking project status, tasks, and issue mfg

Must-Have Critical Skills:

• Ability to analyze information, prioritize, and solve recurring issues
• Skilled at managing multiple projects with tight timelines
• Strong relationship-building skills with clients and trading partners
• Working knowledge of Workday
• Prior experience in API implementations with clients
• Highly motivated, disciplined, and self-driven
• Exceptional attention to detail

Nice-to-Have Technologies & Experience:

• Experience using Postman for API testing
• Familiarity with HRIS or Benefits Administration platforms such as Workday, UKG, PlanSource, ADP, etc
