WordPress Tech Lead

Summary: The WordPress Tech Lead will be responsible for designing and overseeing the entire WordPress architecture, focusing on custom Gutenberg blocks and content models. This role emphasizes ensuring the platform's performance, security, and accessibility while developing modular content structures for staff management. The position also involves implementing SEO strategies and guiding integrations to enhance user experience. The role is remote and classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and oversee the entire WordPress architecture, including custom Gutenberg blocks and content models.
• Ensure the redesigned platform is performant, secure, accessible, and optimized for artistic and operational needs.
• Architect a scalable, flexible WordPress solution supporting performance pages, seasonal content, archives, and Southern Futures content.
• Develop modular content structures so staff can manage pages without coding.
• Implement SEO-optimized schemas and metadata structures aligned with digital growth goals.
• Guide Tessitura/ TNEW integration, ensuring a seamless user experience within budget and scope.
• Ensure SSO, MFA, and plugin governance align with UNC IT policy and security standards.
