Summary: The WordPress Architect role is a long-term contract position focused on developing and optimizing WordPress solutions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in PHP, WordPress Core, and custom development, with a strong emphasis on performance optimization and multisite management. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize WordPress solutions, including custom themes and plugins.
  • Customize WordPress multisite and block editor (Gutenberg) functionalities.
  • Implement performance optimization techniques such as caching and lazy loading.
  • Address cache/CDN challenges and develop cache-busting strategies.
  • Utilize REST APIs, GraphQL, and headless WordPress technologies.
  • Manage hosting environments and deployment automation processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders and communicate project updates.

Job Description:

Requirements

  • Expertise in PHP, WordPress Core, custom themes, and plugin development.
  • Strong experience with WordPress multisite and block editor (Gutenberg) customization.
  • Deep understanding of performance optimization: object caching, page caching, lazy loading, asset bundling.
  • Experience solving cache/CDN challenges (e.g., Cloudflare) and implementing cache-busting strategies.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, GraphQL, and headless WordPress (e.g., Next.js, Gatsby).
  • Knowledge of hosting platforms like WP Engine, Kinsta, or AWS/CloudFront.
