Summary: The Windows/VMWare Admin role is focused on managing and maintaining Windows infrastructure both on-premises and in the Azure public cloud. The position requires extensive experience in virtualization, cloud services, and server management, along with strong troubleshooting and communication skills. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring system uptime, applying security patches, and providing support for escalated issues. This is a remote contract position based in the USA, classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Windows infrastructure in on-premises locations and Azure public cloud.
  • Oversee VMware vSphere virtualization, vROPS, VCF environment, and HyperConverged Nutanix.
  • Manage Windows SQL and File Server Cluster, DNS, DHCP services, and Active Directory.
  • Coordinate hardware-related issues with third parties and OEMs, applying patches/upgrades using SCCM.
  • Ensure maximum uptime according to SLA and update server checklist & inventory.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Operating System.
  • Troubleshoot clusters and related issues in a SAN environment.
  • Provide support for on-call escalations and root cause analysis.
  • Resolve tickets within agreed SLA and adhere to quality standards and company policies.
  • Work on value-adding activities such as knowledge base updates and training.

Key Skills:

  • 10+ years of total experience with 1-2 years in Azure Cloud.
  • Azure Cloud Certified, MSCE/VMware Certified.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware SDDC, vSAN, vROPS, VCF, and HyperConverged solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of DNS/DHCP servers and troubleshooting hardware and OS issues.
  • Experience with OEM hardware (DELL/Cisco/HP/IBM) and remote connectivity tools.
  • Scripting skills in batch, PowerShell, etc.
  • Experience with patching tools (WSUS, SCCM/Big Fix) and antivirus tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer handling skills and ability to manage unforeseen situations.
  • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.

Compute - Wintel (L2) Responsibilities Manage and Maintain Windows Infrastructure in On-premises locations and Public Cloud (azure)

Manage and Maintain VMware vSphere Virtualization, vROPS, VCF Environment Manage and Maintain HyperConverged Nutanix Manage and Maintain Windows SQL and File Server Cluster

Manage and Maintain DNS, DHCP services on Windows Server environment, Active Directory.
