Summary: The Digital Accessibility Web Engineer role involves providing expertise in digital accessibility design, development, testing, and support for websites and web applications. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with accessibility laws and guidelines. The consultant will leverage extensive experience in accessibility methodologies to enhance web-based products. This is a task and deliverable-based project lasting 12 months or more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide digital accessibility design, development, testing, and support for websites and web applications.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state accessibility laws and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
- Collaborate with UX Designers, Business Analysts, Developers, Solution Architects, Testers, Project Managers, and Accessibility Program experts.
- Perform automated and manual testing for accessibility, including screen readers and color contrast validation.
- Inspect code to validate and ensure accessible design practices.
- Design for patterns, design systems, user flows, wireframes, and prototyping.
Key Skills:
- Ten years of digital accessibility experience in web accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
- Experience in automated and manual testing for accessibility.
- Web application experience with code inspection for accessible design practices.
- Experience in web, mobile, and web application design and front-end development.
- Strong design skills for patterns, design systems, user flows, wireframes, and prototyping.
