We're looking for a results-driven WordPress & SEO expert to rebuild our site from the ground up, execute smart SEO strategies, and boost conversions for our pest control business. Job Highlights

• Hourly Rate: USD 8.18, the equivalent in your local currency
• Paid Hours per Week: 40
• Schedule: Flexible, weekly catch ups within Eastern business hours
• Work Arrangement: Work from home
• Contract: Independent Contractor

Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.

Primary Responsibilities

• Website Redevelopment
• Rebuild and maintain our existing website in WordPress (no drag-and-drop fluff).
• Improve site speed, responsiveness , and mobile-first design .
• Ensure smooth page indexing , schema markup , and technical SEO implementation.
• Set up basic conversion tracking (Google Analytics, GTM, pixel, call tracking).
• SEO Strategy & Execution
• Perform keyword research tailored to our core services (pest control, exclusion, attic, etc.).
• Optimize all content for on-page SEO (titles, H1s, meta descriptions, alt tags, etc.).
• Manage local SEO, including GMB optimization , NAP consistency, and review response strategy.
• Build internal linking , create location pages , and recommend blog content if needed.
• Lead Generation & CRO
• Design for conversion — strong CTAs, form placements, click-to-call buttons.
• Test and refine landing pages, heatmap usage, and basic A/B testing .
• Improve how we capture leads from both organic traffic and any PPC efforts.
• Ongoing Support
• Provide monthly reporting on performance (site traffic, rankings, lead form fills).
• Be available for site updates, SEO tweaks, and performance tuning.
• Coordinate with our team (especially if we’re running campaigns or adding services).

Must-Haves

• Proven experience building WordPress sites
• Solid background in technical SEO , on-page/off-page, and local SEO best practices .
• Familiarity with pest control/home service industry a bonus (or at least service-based businesses).
• Fluent in Google tools: Analytics, Search Console, Google My Business, Tag Manager .
• Can communicate clearly, meet deadlines, and respond quickly to feedback.
