Web Accessibility Specialist

Description

We are looking for a Web Accessibility Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will focus on ensuring our digital platforms comply with established accessibility standards, specifically the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by improving accessibility for all users. Please note this is a fully remote position must work EST hours.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive audits of digital content to identify areas that do not meet accessibility standards.

Implement necessary updates to align web platforms with WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines.

Develop and document processes to maintain long-term accessibility compliance.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accessibility considerations are integrated into content creation workflows.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented accessibility changes.

Stay informed about evolving accessibility regulations and industry standards.

Generate detailed reports on accessibility findings and progress made toward compliance.

Assist in reviewing third-party content to ensure adherence to accessibility requirements.

Requirements

Proficiency in digital accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Experience conducting accessibility audits and implementing corrective actions.
Familiarity with tools and technologies used for accessibility testing.
Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and web development principles.
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teams and providing training.
Ability to create clear documentation and reports related to accessibility.
Knowledge of accessibility laws and regulations.
Prior experience in a similar role or related field preferred.
