Summary: The Web Accessibility Specialist is responsible for ensuring that digital content meets accessibility standards, specifically WCAG 2.2 and PDF/UA. This role involves testing and remediating documents and web content, training stakeholders on accessibility best practices, and utilizing various tools for accessibility evaluation. Key Responsibilities:
- Document and web accessibility testing and remediation
- Remediate PDFs, MS-Office documents, and website content to meet accessibility guidelines prior to publishing on NYSERDA web sites
- Training team on PDF remediation
- Ability to interpret logical flow and reading order of documents
- Ability to write accurate alt text and descriptions for images and graphs
- Ability to communicate accessibility best practices
- Ability to train and support internal and external stakeholders
- Other duties as assigned that contribute to the key outcomes of the Large Scale Renewables team
