Summary: The role of Vulnerability & Threat Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Cyber Security is a contract position focused on leading operational vulnerability management within a large enterprise. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operational activity across the vulnerability analyst team
- Ensure scans, reporting, and triage activities are executed effectively
- Provide expert guidance on vulnerability tooling (eg Tenable)
- Contextualise vulnerability data with current threat intelligence
- Drive threat-led prioritisation of remediation activities
- Work closely with IT resolver groups to accelerate patching
- Mentor and support analysts, improving quality and accountability
- Support programme and process improvement initiatives
- Embed a proactive, high-performance operational culture
Key Skills:
- Extensive hands-on experience in vulnerability management
- Strong understanding of threat intelligence and exploitation trends
- Deep knowledge of enterprise vulnerability tooling (eg Tenable)
- Experience guiding IT teams on remediation and patching strategy
