Summary: The role of VMWare Cyber Expert involves working remotely for a leading Government organization on a contract basis. The position focuses on assisting with the design and deployment of ATP security features and overall VMware vDefend security features. The expert will support various tasks related to firewall policy creation, operational metrics, and advanced threat protection. This role requires collaboration with the Extend Expert Team under the direction of the Prime Contractor or End Customer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and deployment of ATP security features.
- Support the overall VMware vDefend security features.
- Assist in the deployment of the platform to support NSXi.
- Help create DFW policies and migrate DFW rules.
- Define the operating model and standardization goals.
- Scale policy structure and operations.
- Build Common Services, Infrastructure, and Application Policies.
- Assist with Identity Firewall, Logging, Monitoring, and Operational Metrics.
- Support capacity management and visibility efforts.
- Enable ATP and assist with policy enablement (IPS/IDS).
- Test and validate security measures and tune malware prevention.
- Conduct threat assessments and assist with logging and monitoring.
- Develop threat scenarios and assist with product upgrades and patching.
- Support initial investigations and create custom dashboards.
- Assist with attack lifecycle evidence chain and day two activities for NSX vDefend.
Key Skills:
- Experience with VMware security features and ATP.
- Knowledge of firewall policy creation and management.
- Familiarity with NSXi and vDefend platforms.
- Ability to assist in operational metrics and capacity management.
- Experience in threat assessment and malware prevention.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

The Extend Expert Team (EET) will work at the direction of the Prime Contractor and/or End Customer.
