Summary: The VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Specialist role is a part-time, fully remote contract position aimed at supporting a high-profile project for a leading consultancy. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation and experience in delivering related projects, acting as a trusted advisor. Responsibilities include managing upgrades, conducting testing, and maintaining documentation. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to provide training and demos.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing upgrade strategies and planning connectivity between customer and internal IT.
- Managing VCF upgrades (eg 4 - 5), including security/express releases and impact assessments.
- Delivering reporting on host status, blocked hosts, core count, and workstream tracking (VBA Scripting skills desirable).
- Conducting deployment locks, lab testing, and operational testing.
- Creating and testing scripts (eg scalable cluster to custom ISO mapping, patch/upgrade host skipping).
- Maintaining and updating tooling and documentation (Confluence, KBs, feature requests, Spaces).
- Providing demos, knowledge transfer, and training.
- Supporting replacement of management domain/subnets (eBVP).
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and its components (vSphere, NSX, vSAN, Aria, SDDC Manager).
- Proven track record of delivering VCF projects in complex enterprise environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and advisory skills.
- Scripting and automation experience beneficial.

Our client, a leading consultancy, is seeking a VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Specialist to support an ongoing project with a high-profile end client.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation, proven experience delivering VCF-related projects, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor on all VCF-related matters.
Engagement details:
Outside IR35
part time (2-3 days per week)
Fully remote
