About Bold Politics

Bold Politics creates social-first political content that shifts public opinion, encourages nuanced debate and inspires hope.

We work with leading voices across politics and public life to produce ambitious digital content that reaches millions of people.

We're looking for someone at the start of their production career who is organised, proactive and eager to learn.

This is a hands-on role supporting productions from planning through to delivery, working alongside experienced producers and directors on fast-paced shoots across the UK.

Above all, we're looking for someone who takes ownership.

You'll enjoy solving problems, communicate confidently with people at every level, and stay calm under pressure when plans inevitably change.

The Role

As Production Assistant, you'll support every stage of our productions, helping to ensure shoots run smoothly and projects stay organised behind the scenes.

You'll work closely with our Executive Producer, Creative Producer and freelance crew, providing practical support both on location and remotely.

From coordinating logistics and preparing call sheets to managing media and supporting high-profile contributors on shoot days, you'll play an important role in helping the team deliver high-quality content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support producers and directors on shoots, assisting with logistics and ensuring productions run smoothly.
  • Work professionally alongside high-profile contributors, helping to create a calm, organised and welcoming environment on set.
  • Safely manage the transfer, backup and storage of production files across physical drives and cloud-based systems.
  • Assist the Creative Producer in preparing call sheets, schedules and production documentation.
  • Coordinate information between team members, freelancers and stakeholders, ensuring everyone has the information they need ahead of shoots.
  • Act as an additional layer of support, identifying and resolving production issues before they become bigger problems.
  • Carry out production research, administrative tasks and general shoot support as required.
  • Travel regularly across the UK to support location shoots, with flexibility to work outside standard office hours when production schedules require.

About You

This role is ideal for someone at the beginning of their production career.

You may have gained experience through university, freelance work, internships, personal projects or other hands-on production experience.

You'll also bring: Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.

Confidence in communicating with a wide range of people in a professional and friendly manner.

A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

The ability to stay calm, adaptable and resourceful in fast-moving environments.

Good digital skills and confidence using cloud-based tools and learning new production workflows.

An interest in social media, digital storytelling and UK politics.

A willingness to travel regularly across the UK.

A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.

What We Offer

A flexible, remote-first role with regular travel across the UK for shoots.

A four-day working week (0.8 FTE).

Flexibility in how you manage your working hours.

We trust our team to organise their time responsibly around projects and production schedules.

Competitive salary, dependent on experience and aligned with recognised industry pay guidelines.

The opportunity to develop your production skills while working on influential political content seen by millions.

Mentorship from experienced producers and creatives within a collaborative, ambitious team.

If you're excited to build a career in production, enjoy working as part of a small team and want to help create thoughtful political content that reaches millions, we'd love to hear from you.
