Vertex Business Analyst
Summary: We are looking for a Vertex Specialist to serve as the client-side representative in a significant global finance transformation project. The role involves bridging business tax requirements with a Tier-1 Systems Integrator, ensuring robust solutions, and identifying delivery gaps. The position requires hands-on experience with Vertex implementation and strong stakeholder management skills. This is a remote position for a 12-month contract outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead workshops to gather and document functional requirements for the Vertex implementation.
- Review and actively challenge the SI's proposed designs to protect client interests.
- Translate business processes into test scenarios and drive UAT/end-to-end validation.
- Work closely with internal Tax, Finance, and Enterprise Systems teams.
Key Skills:
- Hands-on experience implementing Vertex (O Series/Indirect Tax) in a large corporate environment.
- Strong documentation, process mapping, and UAT design skills.
- Experience working on large-scale enterprise ERP rollouts.
- Proven ability to manage and challenge Tier-1 external consultancies.
- Strong foundational knowledge of Indirect Tax/VAT (nice to have).

- SI Governance: Review and actively challenge the SI's proposed designs to protect client interests.
- Testing: Translate business processes into test scenarios and drive UAT/end-to-end validation.
- Stakeholder Management: Work closely with internal Tax, Finance, and Enterprise Systems teams.
- Vertex Implementation (Essential): Hands-on experience implementing Vertex (O Series/Indirect Tax) in a large corporate environment.
- BA/Functional Background: Strong documentation, process mapping, and UAT design skills.
- ERP Programme Exposure: Experience working on large-scale enterprise ERP rollouts.
- Confidence to Challenge: Proven ability to manage and challenge Tier-1 external consultancies.
- Nice to have: Strong foundational knowledge of Indirect Tax/VAT.
