Summary: The role of SC Cleared VCF/Aria Architect involves leading the design, requirements gathering, and deployment planning for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) solutions in secure environments. The successful candidate will work closely with customers and suppliers to ensure alignment on business objectives while delivering high-quality documentation. This position requires active SC clearance and extensive experience in cloud infrastructure and automation. The role is contract-based and includes some customer travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, architect, and deliver VCF-based infrastructure solutions in secure environments
- Provide hands-on expertise across VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF v3-v9), NSX, SRM, and Aria
- Lead and contribute to automation initiatives, including mapping VCD to VCF 9.1 and API-driven integrations
- Lead and facilitate structured design and requirements-gathering workshops with customers and suppliers
- Produce and own high-quality design documentation and deployment workbooks
Key Skills:
- Active SC Clearance
- Proven experience as a VCF/Aria Architect or in a similar architecture role
- Experience leading design and requirements-gathering workshops
- Hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), NSX, SRM, and Aria
- Strong automation experience, including API usage
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure and virtualization concepts
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and translate technical solutions into business outcomes
- Experience delivering large-scale cloud migration or transformation projects
- Familiarity with additional VMware products and solutions
- Proven delivery experience within secure or regulated environments

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced SC Cleared VCF/Aria Architect with expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF9) and associated technologies, including VCF9 and Aria.
The successful candidate will leading the design, requirements gathering and deployment planning activities across both the customer and their key supplier.
Candidates must be live SC Cleared Architects and Consultants with strong expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), automation, and the Aria platform to support this large-scale public sector programmes. Roles are contract-based.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and deliver VCF-based infrastructure solutions in secure environments
- Provide hands-on expertise across:
- VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF v3-v9)
- NSX, SRM, and Aria
- Lead and contribute to automation initiatives, including:
- Mapping VCD to VCF 9.1 (including pre-release versions)
- API-driven integrations and workflow automation
- Lead and facilitate structured design and requirements-gathering workshops with the customer and key third-party suppliers, ensuring alignment on business objectives
- Produce and own high-quality design documentation and deployment workbooks
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Active SC Clearance.
- Proven experience as a VCF/Aria Architect, or in a similar architecture role.
- Demonstrable experience leading design and requirements-gathering workshops across both customers and key suppliers.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience with:
- VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
- NSX, SRM, and Aria
- Strong automation experience, including API usage and platform-to-platform mapping
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and virtualisation concepts.
