Key Responsibilities:
- Validate a wide range of planning applications, ensuring all submissions meet national and local validation requirements
- Register planning applications and associated documentation accurately within the planning system
- Assess plans, supporting statements, and accompanying documents for completeness and compliance
- Liaise with applicants, agents, consultees, and internal departments regarding validation requirements and application processes
- Provide technical and administrative support to Development Management teams
- Manage application correspondence, consultations, and statutory notifications
- Maintain accurate planning records and ensure information is updated within relevant systems
- Support the delivery of performance targets and statutory deadlines across the planning service
Key Skills:
- Previous experience within a Planning Validation, Technical Support, or Development Management administration role
- Strong understanding of the planning application process within a UK Local Authority environment
- Experience validating planning applications and working with planning management systems
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume workload
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret planning documentation accurately
- Effective communication skills and confidence liaising with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fully remote environment

This role requires an individual who can hit the ground running, confidently managing the validation and registration of planning applications while operating within a busy local authority environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring applications are processed efficiently and accurately, supporting planning officers and helping to maintain service performance standards.
