Summary: This role of UX Designer focuses on creating user-centered designs for complex digital products and websites, particularly in healthcare settings. The designer will lead end-to-end design activities, ensuring usability and compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position requires a blend of traditional UI/UX design with human factors and user research to enhance experiences for various user groups. The role is fully remote and spans a duration of 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and implement the overall design strategy for digital products and websites, ensuring a cohesive and user-centered experience.
- Define, refine, and optimize design processes, tools, and workflows to support efficient and high-quality delivery.
- Lead UX design activities from concept through implementation for multiple digital products and websites, balancing concurrent product needs and priorities.
- Understand and advocate for both client and end-user needs, incorporating feedback and insights into design decisions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including researchers, engineers, product managers, clinical experts, and regulatory stakeholders to define business requirements, feature requirements, user scenarios, and use cases.
- Plan and support user research activities such as user interviews, usability testing, task analysis, and other human factors methods, and translate findings into actionable design improvements.
- Create UX and design assets including process flows, site maps, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors.
- Present design concepts and solutions clearly and persuasively, explaining the rationale and value behind design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work closely with product stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of product goals, constraints, and priorities, and align design solutions with the product roadmap.
- Provide design leadership and guidance to technical teams, helping to ensure consistent implementation of UX standards and best practices.
- Manage work within established project timelines and deliver design assets that support ongoing product development and releases.
- Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and adhere to all physical and digital security practices as part of daily work.
Key Skills:
- 3 5+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer, specifically designing complex digital products and interfaces.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end user-centered design processes, from research and concept development through detailed design and implementation.
- Experience in regulated industries, preferably medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, or other safety-critical environments where usability, risk mitigation, and compliance are critical.
- Demonstrated skills and interest in user research and human factors, including conducting or supporting user interviews, usability testing, task analysis, and synthesizing insights into design solutions.
- Ability to design intuitive interfaces for diverse user groups, including patients, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Work Environment
This is a full-time, remote position with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Work is performed in a digital environment using modern design software such as Figma and Adobe XD, along with standard collaboration tools. The role involves close virtual collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, requiring reliable connectivity and a professional remote workspace.
