Role description

User experience (UX) designers focus on creating seamless, engaging experiences by designing the underlying structure and information flow for products, services, and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding user needs and context through research insights.
  • Defining UX goals and principles based on research findings.
  • Applying human factors knowledge, such as Hick's Law and Fitt's Law, to optimize interactions.
  • Designing the user experience architecture, including functions, information, and interactions.
  • Developing navigation pathways and content organization strategies.
  • Considering user context variations, such as culture, environment, and activity.
  • Integrating technological, operational, and functional constraints into human-centered opportunities.
  • Ensuring relational aspects are considered across the entire experience.

Skills / Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a UX Designer within complex digital transformation, government, or enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and UX best practices.
  • Experience conducting and interpreting user research to inform design decisions.
  • Ability to translate research findings into UX goals, principles, and service improvements.
  • Knowledge of human factors and interaction design principles, including Hick's Law and Fitt's Law.
  • Experience creating information architecture, user journeys, user flows, wireframes, and interaction designs.
  • Strong understanding of navigation design and content organisation strategies.
  • Ability to consider diverse user needs, contexts, cultures, environments, and accessibility requirements.
  • Experience balancing user needs with technical, operational, functional, and business constraints.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Experience designing end-to-end user experiences across complex products, services, or systems.
  • Ability to ensure consistency and relational thinking across the entire user experience.
