Summary: The User Researcher role focuses on UX design and strategy within healthcare settings, specifically GDS and NHS environments. The position requires leading research initiatives throughout various project phases, including Discovery and Alpha. This role is primarily remote with occasional travel requirements and falls under inside IR35 regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead user research initiatives in UX design and strategy.
- Conduct co-design sessions and focus groups with diverse users.
- Manage projects from discovery through to delivery.
- Engage with patients, clinicians, and staff to gather insights.
- Ensure adherence to research ethics, accessibility, and governance in healthcare.
- Conduct various research methodologies including interviews, usability testing, and field research.
- Perform contextual, longitudinal, and diary studies, integrating analytics as needed.

Candidates will have the following experience:
- Proven experience as an User Researcher
- Proven experience in UX design and UX strategy
- Proven experience in Healthcare, GDS or NHS environments
- Proven track record leading research in Discovery and Alpha phases
- Proven experience leading co-design sessions
- Proven experience leading projects from discovery to delivery
- Proven experience leading focus groups and engaging with diverse users (patients, clinicians, staff)
- Strong understanding of research ethics, accessibility, and governance in healthcare
- Proven experience leading user groups, interviews, usability testing, and field research
- Experience conducting contextual, longitudinal, and diary studies, and integrate analytics where appropriate
