Summary: The User Researcher role involves leading user research activities within an Agile team to enhance user-centred digital services. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure that products are designed based on real user needs, accessibility, and inclusivity. The role is remote with occasional travel to London and is classified as inside IR35. The contract duration is for 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, scope, and deliver user research across the Agile lifecycle
- Use qualitative methods (usability testing, interviews, surveys, ethnography, focus groups)
- Collaborate with Designers, Product Owners, and Developers to prioritise research
- Turn research findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
- Communicate complex research outputs to stakeholders effectively
- Ensure research supports accessible, inclusive, and ethical design
- Contribute to service and design improvements based on user insight
- Facilitate workshops and help teams interpret research findings
- Advocate for user-centred design across teams
Key Skills:
- Strong experience in user research within Agile environments
- Proven ability to translate insights into practical design recommendations
- Experience engaging stakeholders and influencing decisions
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive research practices
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving teams
- Desirable: NHS / healthcare experience
- Desirable: Mobile app research experience
