UI/UX Engineer (React / TypeScript) – Part-Time Contract

Type: Time & Materials

Duration: Initial 2 months (Extension highly likely)

Rate: £450-500 per day (pro rata)

Start: ASAP (2 week onboarding)

Commitment: ~8 hours per week (flexible, with some daytime availability for meetings)

Location: Remote (UK-based)

We’re supporting a consultancy delivering a large-scale data and technology programme within a regulated, government-aligned environment . As part of a recent service transition, they’ve identified a need for UI/UX expertise to support the handover, assessment and improvement of an existing front-end application developed by a third party.

The Opportunity

This is a flexible, part-time contract (circa 3–10 hours per week) ideal for someone looking to complement an existing engagement. You’ll play a key role in:

  • Reviewing and understanding an existing UI codebase
  • Supporting technical handover sessions with incumbent developers
  • Assessing code quality, structure, and scalability
  • Providing recommendations to improve usability, accessibility and performance
  • Helping shape the roadmap for ongoing UI development and support

Due to the nature of the engagement, there is a strong need for someone who can quickly get up to speed and provide immediate value . There is also strong potential for this to evolve into a longer-term retainer or expanded scope as the programme matures.
