Test Manager – SC Cleared

Whitehall Resources require a Test Manager with active SC clearance to work with a key client on a 6-month initial contract.

*Inside IR35.

*Fully remote working.

*Active SC clearance required.

This is a leading technology-focussed transformation programme. It will deliver digital capability improvements for both our external customers and users of transactional services, as well as our internal business users. Involving:

* Providing modern digital systems using an established Microsoft development platform

* Providing new capabilities to enable improvements to business processes

* Providing generic software components that can be used across all regulation

* Improving how we regulate through better quality data

* Reducing the financial burden our current systems cost to maintain

Project specific

* Build the test plan for Controller and Transporters

* Prepare to execute the UAT testing to follow plan

* Work with stakeholder and teams to draft test scenarios

* Support users with UAT

* Ensure sufficient Testers avail from business to support testing

* Work with teams to relay outcomes from testing and understand fix timescales and retest approach

* Develop the approach for end to end testing for Controllers and Transporters

* Test Manager SFIA Level 5

* Communicating between the technical and nontechnical

* Apply appropriate communication techniques to improve clarity between technical and nontechnical stakeholders

* Manage stakeholder expectations and support difficult discussions relating to risk, complexity or constraints

* Represent the testing function to wider stakeholder groups when required

* Designing and executing tests

* Set up suitable test environments

* Guide the selection and application of appropriate test types and techniques to mitigate risk early

* Design, build, maintain and execute tests aligned with requirements and user needs

* Contribute to the development and improvement of standards for designing and executing tests

* Strong understanding of GDS standards around testing including accessibility, security and operating a reliable service

* Managing, reporting and resolving defects

* Improve processes for test and defect management

* Support assessment of complex defects across teams or work areas

* Use defect patterns and trends to support recommendations for tactical and strategic improvement

* Test analysis

* Work with stakeholders to determine valuable functional and non-functional quality characteristics

* Identify when an approach should change based on effort and risk

* Apply multiple analysis techniques to identify risk within complex information

* Test and quality planning

* Create and manage testing plans, approaches and strategies

* Support consistent adoption of defined testing strategies

* Promote early involvement of testing to improve overall quality

* Ensure robust defect management processes are in place and understood by key stakeholders
