Key responsibilities
- Own and develop the programme's Quality Assurance and Testing strategy.
- Lead the planning, governance and execution of testing across the delivery life cycle.
- Ensure quality is Embedded from the earliest stages of delivery.
- Coordinate functional and non-functional testing across teams and environments.
- Establish appropriate test governance, reporting and quality controls.
- Manage defect governance, quality risks and risk-based delivery decisions.
- Monitor test progress and clearly report outcomes, risks and dependencies to senior stakeholders.
- Drive improvements to test processes, delivery efficiency and team capability.
- Coordinate handovers and testing outcomes across later test phases.
- Engage closely with programme leads, workstream leads, delivery managers and technical teams.
Essential experience
- Extensive experience operating as a Test Manager or Programme Test Manager.
- Proven ownership of test strategies for large or complex technology programmes.
- Strong functional and non-functional testing experience.
- Experience coordinating testing across multiple teams, workstreams and environments.
- Strong test governance, planning and delivery management capability.
- Experience managing defects, quality risks and readiness decisions.
- Strong technical awareness and the ability to work effectively with engineering teams.
- Experience presenting test progress, outcomes and risks to senior stakeholders.
- Evidence of test-process improvement and optimisation.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Additional requirements
- Candidates must be UK citizens, currently based in the UK.
- Candidates must have lived continuously in the UK for the past five years.
- BPSS is mandatory and will be arranged for the successful candidate.
- Candidates must be able to undertake occasional project-led travel within the UK.
