Summary: We are looking for a Test Engineer/QA Engineer to join a delivery-focused team on a 6-month remote contract with occasional site visits. The role involves ensuring the quality and performance of digital services in a secure environment through the design and execution of test strategies. The ideal candidate will collaborate with developers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions while continuously improving testing processes. BPSS clearance is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of test strategies and test plans
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing
- Identify, log, and track defects through to resolution
- Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC
- Support test automation frameworks and improve test coverage
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Ensure solutions meet quality, performance, and security standards
- Continuously improve testing processes and best practices
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Test Engineer, QA Engineer, or Software Tester
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices
- Experience with test automation tools (eg, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or similar)
- Experience testing APIs and microservices (eg, Postman, REST Assured)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with defect tracking tools (eg, Jira)
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
