Summary: The Senior Test Automation Engineer role involves joining a large-scale digital transformation programme in a secure, cloud-native environment. The position requires hands-on automation expertise to enhance automated regression and performance testing capabilities within an agile team. The successful candidate will work autonomously and collaborate closely with developers and QA colleagues. Immediate availability is preferred for this contract position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain end-to-end regression test suites using Playwright (TypeScript)
- Develop and maintain performance testing scripts using k6 (JavaScript)
- Support automation of CI/CD testing pipelines (Azure DevOps)
- Produce clear, comprehensive test reports to support release sign-off
- Collaborate closely with developers and QA colleagues to identify, triage and resolve defects
- Contribute to continuous improvement of automation standards and best practice
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for E2E automation
- Proven experience using k6 for performance testing
- Experience working within a BDD/TDD environment (Cucumber)
- Experience maintaining automated test pipelines within CI/CD environments (Azure DevOps preferred)
- Ability to operate independently within established delivery teams
- Immediate availability or ability to start at very short notice

An opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer to join a large-scale digital transformation programme within a secure, cloud-native delivery environment .
This is a hands-on automation role suited to an individual who can embed quickly into an established QA function and operate autonomously within a multidisciplinary agile team. You will play a key role in strengthening automated regression and performance testing capability across the programme.
