Test Automation Engineer

Summary: The role of Test Automation Consultant involves transitioning from manual to automated UI Testing for a remote-based client on a 3-month contract. The consultant will collaborate with manual testers, design and maintain Playwright UI Test Automation scripts, and integrate these into the CI/CD pipeline. The position requires a strong focus on quality and best practices in test automation. Candidates must be based in the UK and possess relevant experience in test automation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Manual Testers to identify key UI Testing Automation opportunities
• Design, Develop and maintain robust and scalable Playwright UI Test Automation Scripts
• Integrate Automated Tests into their existing CI/CD Pipeline to support continuous testing
• Support on other forms of testing including API, Performance and Regression
• Get involved in defect triage and collaborate with developers and testers to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
• Take charge of quality and best practice of Test Automation across the Team

Key Skills:

• Proven experience writing and maintaining Test Automation scripts with Playwright (Javascript/Typescript preferred)
• Solid understanding of UI Testing principles, frameworks and best practice
• Experience of integrating test automation into CI/CD Environments (Azure DevOps)
