Summary: The Technology Operations Engineer role involves supporting a critical payment platform by ensuring the stability and performance of production systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily system health checks and monitor platform performance
- Handle service requests and incidents, ensuring resolution within SLAs through systematic troubleshooting
- Execute maintenance tasks including patching, backups, and coordinating vendor support
- Collaborate with development, QA, and engineering teams to resolve complex issues and deploy updates
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including runbooks, procedures, and knowledge base articles
- Participate in on-call rota covering weekdays (17:00-22:30), nights, and weekends
- Implement security measures and respond to security incidents in coordination with the security team
Key Skills:
- Production server administration experience (Windows/Linux)
- Strong troubleshooting skills with methodical root cause analysis approach
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools
- Understanding of incident and problem management practices
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and working under pressure
- Desirable: HSM operations, payment systems (BACS/FPS/SWIFT), fintech experience
