Summary: The Technology Operations Engineer role involves supporting a critical payment platform by ensuring the stability and performance of production systems. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily system health checks and monitor platform performance
  • Handle service requests and incidents, ensuring resolution within SLAs through systematic troubleshooting
  • Execute maintenance tasks including patching, backups, and coordinating vendor support
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and engineering teams to resolve complex issues and deploy updates
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including runbooks, procedures, and knowledge base articles
  • Participate in on-call rota covering weekdays (17:00-22:30), nights, and weekends
  • Implement security measures and respond to security incidents in coordination with the security team

Key Skills:

  • Production server administration experience (Windows/Linux)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with methodical root cause analysis approach
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools
  • Understanding of incident and problem management practices
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and working under pressure
  • Desirable: HSM operations, payment systems (BACS/FPS/SWIFT), fintech experience

About The Role

We’re looking for a Technology Operations Engineer to join a focused team supporting a critical payment platform. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the stability and performance of our production platforms, handling incidents, and working closely with internal teams to maintain 24/7 service delivery.
