Summary: The Technical Writer / Technical Content Developer is responsible for creating comprehensive software documentation, including user guides, API documents, and release notes. The role requires the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences and proficiency in organizing complex technical information. Candidates must have a strong command of various documentation tools and methodologies, alongside experience in software product writing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create user guides, API documents, and release notes for software products.
- Tailor content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Organize complex technical information clearly and logically.
- Utilize MS Word, Google Docs, Confluence, and similar tools for documentation.
- Apply knowledge of Markdown, HTML/CSS in documentation.
- Use Adobe Acrobat, SnagIT, or similar tools for creating visuals.
- Work with Git or other version control systems for documentation management.
- Understand and apply Scrum/Agile methodology in documentation processes.
- Familiarize with REST APIs, JSON, and software architecture concepts.
- Read and interpret code snippets for documentation purposes.
- Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information.
- Maintain strong versioning and documentation review practices.
- Write documentation for various software products (SaaS, desktop, mobile).
- Incorporate UX writing principles where applicable.
- Utilize diagramming tools like Lucidchart or Draw.io for visual documentation.

- 5 years of experience in creating software documentation.
- Ability to tailor content for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in organizing complex technical information.
- Expertise in MS Word, Google Docs, Confluence, or similar tools.
