Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain IT documentation, including SOPs, runbooks, knowledge base articles, technical procedures, and quick reference guides.
  • Create documentation for IT Helpdesk, Data Center Operations, and Network Operations.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and technical teams to gather and translate complex technical information into clear documentation.
  • Review, edit, and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Organize documentation for easy search, knowledge sharing, onboarding, and operational support.
  • Establish and maintain documentation standards, templates, naming conventions, and quality processes.
  • Manage documentation lifecycle, including version control, reviews, approvals, and retirement of outdated documents.

Required Skills

  • Senior-level experience as a Technical Writer supporting IT infrastructure or operations.
  • Strong experience creating SOPs, runbooks, knowledge base articles, and technical documentation.
  • Experience documenting IT Helpdesk, Data Center, and Network Operations.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with documentation platforms, knowledge management systems, and collaboration tools.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM), ticketing systems, and documentation governance.
  • Excellent communication, interviewing, editing, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting higher education IT environments.
  • Familiarity with version control and documentation review workflows.
  • Experience working in remote, cross-functional IT teams.
