Summary: The Technical Writer will be responsible for documenting the database infrastructure for hospitality and gaming operations, creating clear and actionable documentation for various stakeholders. This role involves authoring comprehensive guides, collaborating on technical design documents, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The position requires a strong understanding of database design and cloud environments, along with experience in technical writing within the hospitality or gaming industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database & System Documentation: Author comprehensive guides for internal database schemas, Data Dictionaries, administrative SOPs, maintenance procedures and cloud based efforts
  • Technical Design Documentation: Collaborate with developers to draft Technical Design Documents (TDD) for various integrations within The Venetian environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that ensure technical workflows adhere to regulations and information security standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and Business Operation Managers to verify technical accuracy in high-traffic, real-time environments.

Key Skills:

  • Education: Technical Writing, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years in technical writing within a Hospitality, or Gaming industry.
  • Good understanding of Database Design and the ability to understand database schemas, table relationship and data flow
  • Good understanding of cloud environments (preferably Google Cloud Platform)
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and integration patterns
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles and Agile environments.
  • Understanding of casino-specific technology such as gaming and hotel systems along with kiosk technologies a plus

Job Overview

We are seeking a Technical Writer to document the database infrastructure powering our hospitality and gaming operations as well as SOP s, potential integration efforts as well as be able to diagram things like schema. They will translate database schemas, SOP s, Data Dictionaries and other items into clear, actionable documentation for data engineers, database administrators, and operational staff.
