Summary: The Technical Security Consultant will play a crucial role in insourcing a Security Operations Center (SOC) from a third party in the US, focusing on hands-on security operations. The position requires broad security experience, particularly in network security, firewalls, and Zscaler. The consultant will manage day-to-day network security operations and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance security capabilities. Occasional off-hours support may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather requirements, assess risks, and implement firewall changes to meet business demands.
- Triage application and user connectivity issues, implementing configuration changes as necessary.
- Provide guidance in operating, maintaining, and enhancing network security capabilities.
- Engage effectively with stakeholders to ensure NSOC services meet requirements.
- Cross-train with team members to support professional development.
- Identify key trends and execute remediation plans for recurring incidents.
Key Skills:
- A degree in Cyber Security or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience with security technologies, including Palo Alto and Cisco FirePower.
- Experience with incident and change activities in a large enterprise environment.
- Strong experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing network security capabilities.
- Understanding of networking protocols and infrastructure designs, including cloud infrastructures.
- Certifications such as Cisco CCIE Security, Checkpoint CCSE/CCSM, Palo Alto PCNSE, F5 201/401, and Zscaler ZDTA/ZTCA are a plus.
