Summary: The Technical Project Manager (Data & AI) role involves overseeing a foundational Data & AI initiative for a client in Kansas City, MO. Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and synthesize all existing project documentation, workstreams, and stakeholder inputs into a comprehensive systems view and status report of our overall Data and AI programs
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and lead Architecture Reviews to help senior engineering teams identify and address overlapping areas of concern
  • Promote code reuse and organizational transparency by driving Inner Source programs and technology awareness initiatives
  • Serve as the central leader for AI Use Case Intake governance, ensuring all related artifacts and processes are current, effective, and well-documented
  • Continuously streamline intake and review workflows by identifying risks, optimizing processes, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders
  • Facilitate information collection from cross-functional teams, ensuring all work in flight is accounted for
  • Develop and maintain a project plan that clearly defines scope, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and milestones
  • Identify, assess, and document project risks, proposing mitigation strategies
  • Ensure the project plan addresses resource allocation, stakeholder roles, and communication protocols
  • Regularly update leadership and stakeholders on project status, risks, and progress
  • Deliver a final project plan that is actionable, transparent, and enables the team to execute with clarity after contract completion

Key Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, or similar platforms for project planning, tracking, and reporting
  • Experience consolidating data from multiple sources (databases, spreadsheets, cloud platforms) into unified dashboards or project plans
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, including requirements and process flows
  • Familiarity with risk assessment frameworks and tools; Able to identify, quantify, and mitigate technical and operational risks
  • Understanding of AI, data engineering, cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform), and software development lifecycles
  • Experience mapping and optimizing workflows for technical teams, including automation and process improvement
  • Ability to design and deliver executive-level reports and presentations summarizing project status, risks, and recommendations
  • Experience supporting change management initiatives in technical environments, including training and documentation handoffs
  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager in data, AI, or technology-driven environments
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills; able to bring order to complex, ambiguous projects
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to identify risks and develop mitigation plans
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Contract/project-based work history preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
