Summary: The Technical Consultant role is a 100% remote position requiring a minimum of 5 years of technical experience, particularly in server-level roles such as software implementation and support. The position is initially for 6 months with a potential extension, and the rate is £600 per day via PAYE umbrella.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement software solutions and provide 2nd or 3rd line support.
  • Study and learn basic workflows related to Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving Communication Systems (PACS).
  • Work with SQL and database systems, preferably Oracle.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems.
  • Work in production environments against SLAs, understanding processes like zero downtime during data migration.
  • Demonstrate understanding of applications, network environments, and web technologies.
  • Utilize common security technologies and practices.
  • Work with storage platform technologies (RAID, SAN, NAS, tape libraries).
  • Apply knowledge of high availability technologies and virtualization (HyperV/VMWare).
  • Utilize programming knowledge in .NET, C++, and Java.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role at the server level.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in a hospital environment and knowledge of RIS and PACS.
  • SQL and database systems experience, preferably Oracle.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems.
  • Understanding of SLAs and production environments.

Job description:

  • A minimum of 5+ years' experience from a technical role on a server-level, eg implementation of software solutions, 2nd or 3rd line support or similar roles. - Required. Software implementation in any client - server architecture experience is OK.
  • Bachelor or Master´s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent education - Required.
  • Previous experience from hospital environment and radiological workflow, including technical skills on Radiology Information systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving Communication Systems (PACS). Nice to have/Not mandatory, but would need to study/learn basic workflow about RIS and PACS before appearing for interview.
  • Experience with SQL and database systems preferably Oracle.
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Server Operating Systems.
  • Experience of working in production environments against SLAs. Not mandatory but need to understand/know the process of SLAs. eg Zero downtime procedure during data migration, Risk Assessment, support, troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated acumen for understanding applications, network environments and web technologies.
  • Common security technologies and practices.
  • Storage Platforms technologies (RAID, SAN, NAS, tape libraries).
  • High availability technologies (ie based on Hypervisor, OS, Veritas, Oracle).
  • Knowledge around this required. Some knowledge around Virtualisation HyperV/VMWare is expected.
