Summary: The CAD Designer role involves preparing and checking 3D Revit and Inventor structural models, as well as 2D drawings for structural building systems. Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and checking 3D Revit and Inventor structural models and 2D drawings.
  • Creating and checking definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies.
  • Utilizing knowledge of structural discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.
  • Managing and issuing models in Autodesk Construction Cloud tool.
  • Supporting the Civil Structural Team in 3D modeling.
  • Ensuring compliance with drafting standards and model management.
  • Collaborating with Engineering teams to develop 3D models.

Key Skills:

  • Associates degree in Structural Design or similar.
  • 5 years of experience in structural drafting for heavy industrial sectors.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Revit.
  • Experience in drafting/modeling checking roles.
  • Ability to pass nuclear security background check.
  • Competency in Microsoft products and Microsoft Teams.

Position Title: CAD Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION



Monday through Friday standard business hours 40 hrs/week



Essential Responsibilities:

Preparing/Checking of 3D Revit and Inventor structural models and 2D drawings and details of structural building systems.

Create/Check definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 3D models, 2D cross sections, section details, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.

Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a structural discipline, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.

Has knowledge of structural drafting and design best practices, including interfaces with mechanical piping, HVAC and electrical.

Design activity will require knowledge of design principles and drafting procedures.

Work with BIM coordinator to manage and issue models in Autodesk Construction Cloud tool while enforcing configuration management plan.

Support Civil Structural Team in 3D model (Navisworks, Revit, Inventor).

Proficient in Revit & Autodesk suite of tools.

Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.

Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions



Qualifications:

An Associates degree in Structural Design (or similar) 5 years of experience in structural drafting for heavy industrial, thermal power, nuclear industry or similar industries.

OR at least 10 years of relevant work experience in structural drafting for heavy industrial, thermal power, nuclear industry or similar industries.

Minimum 5 years of experience using Inventor and REVIT

Performed Drafting/Modeling Checking role for 5 years or more

Must be able to pass nuclear security background check for access

Work within a team environment to execute work plans and schedules as applicable for mission success.

Perform work in compliance with policies and procedures.

Competency in computer programs and software such as Microsoft products and Microsoft teams

Advanced knowledge of Revit family creation

Autodesk Inventor experience a plus
