Summary: The Technical Business Analyst role involves working within Agile squads to deliver digital and operational initiatives for a well-established retail organization. This hands-on position requires collaboration with engineers, product teams, and QA to refine backlog items and ensure clear, actionable requirements. The role is remote-first with occasional travel to Yorkshire, focusing on translating business needs into technical deliverables. The contract is initially for three months and classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within Agile squads to refine and prioritise backlog items alongside engineers and product teams
  • Write clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria that can be picked up and delivered by development teams
  • Translate business requirements into well-defined technical deliverables
  • Support sprint ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning and reviews
  • Collaborate with developers to clarify requirements and resolve queries during delivery
  • Analyse current systems, processes and data flows to support solution design

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst working closely with engineering teams in Agile environments
  • Strong experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria (e.g. Jira)
  • Ability to translate business needs into structured, delivery-ready requirements
  • Comfortable working in a technical environment (APIs, integrations, systems, or data exposure)
  • Experience supporting delivery across the full sprint lifecycle
  • Background in retail or customer-focused digital environments is beneficial
  • Nice to Have: Experience working on system integrations or platform-based products
  • Exposure to data mapping or working with APIs

Salary (Rate): £425 daily

Contract Technical Business Analyst £425 per day | Inside IR35 Initial 3-month contract Remote-first with occasional travel to Yorkshire (approx. once every two weeks) We’re supporting a well-established organisation within the retail space, looking to bring in a Technical Business Analyst to join cross-functional Agile squads delivering a range of digital and operational initiatives. This is a hands-on delivery role, working closely with engineers, product and QA to shape and refine backlog items, ensuring requirements are clear, actionable and ready for build.
