Summary: The role of Technical Business Analyst involves managing the discovery process for complex Data Centre migrations, focusing on Business-Critical Applications. The successful candidate will compile migration and cutover plans, quality assure test plans, and engage with SMEs across various technical areas. Strong communication skills and a deep understanding of large data centres are essential for this position. The role requires the ability to lead workshops and engage with senior stakeholders effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and document the complete IT estate of a Data Centre (ie Applications, Interface maps, Operational Requirements, Third Parties, Licencing, Contractual Obligations, Migration Constraints, Technical Infrastructure and Network details)
  • Produce Discovery Books which accurately capture the above detail and then subsequently engage with all stakeholders to write Migration Plans for go-live execution.
  • Oversee and Quality Check project artefacts associated with Application and Infrastructure Migrations.
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of Application and System Benchmarking.
  • Engage with SME's and Vendors to oversee and/or prepare Application/System Test Plans
  • Execute Cutover Management, document and manage Issues/Resolutions
  • Strong understanding of project governance and adherence to company quality standards.
  • Availability to work out of hours where required.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in managing Data Centre migrations
  • Strong working knowledge of VMWare Servers, Active Directory, Load Balancers, Citrix, Racking, Network Storage devices, High Availability Clusters, Backup and Recovery procedures, Veeam or Zerto
  • Familiarity with RDBMS Databases, Network diagrams, WAN/MPLS links, Sub-nets, Switches, Firewall and Port management
  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and lead workshops
  • Experience in quality assurance of test plans
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills
  • Understanding of project governance and quality standards
  • Willingness to work out of hours when required

Technical Business Analyst - EU DC Consolidation

We are hiring for an experienced Technical Business Analyst who has proven long term experience and knowhow on how to prepare and manage the discovery process for large scale and complex Data Centre migrations.

The successful Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for compiling migrations plans and cutover plans for Business-Critical Applications that bring in millions and millions of pounds - this is not a simple drag and drop exercise. As well as the migration and cutover plans, the BA will be required to quality assure test plans from dev's and vendors (the BA will not be writing the test plans, but you will be required to quality assure these).

The successful candidate should have a very strong working knowledge of large data centres and be able to understand and comfortably converse with SMEs in as many of the following areas: VMWare Servers, Active Directory, Load Balancers, Citrix, Racking, Network Storage devices, High Availability Clusters, Backup and Recovery procedures, Veeam or Zerto. They should also be fully conversant with RDBMS Databases, Network diagrams, WAN/MPLS links, Sub-nets, Switches, Firewall and Port management)

Salary: £70,000 + 5% bonus

Location: Remote from the UK, with travel when required

Duration: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract
