Technical Architect - SC Cleared

SC Cleared Technical Architect Contract: 12 Months Rate: Up to £650 per day (Inside IR35) Location: Remote-first, with occasional travel to South London Start Date: August 2026 Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance strongly preferred Venturi is partnering with a leading technology consultancy delivering a large-scale digital transformation programme within a UK Government department. We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to provide technical leadership across architecture, engineering collaboration and stakeholder engagement on a complex, high-profile programme. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of architecture, engineering and delivery, helping shape technical direction while supporting senior stakeholders and delivery teams through complex technical challenges. The Role As Technical Architect, you will work closely with client stakeholders, engineering teams and delivery partners to define solution approaches, provide architectural leadership and support the successful delivery of strategic technology initiatives. You will be responsible for producing architecture artefacts, guiding technical decision-making and ensuring solutions align with both business objectives and technical best practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and communicate technical architecture across complex programmes and products
• Collaborate with engineering teams to shape technical solutions and resolve architectural challenges
• Produce architecture deliverables including High-Level Designs (HLDs), Technical Options Papers and Key Design Decisions (KDDs)
• Support architecture governance and design assurance processes
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand requirements and shape solution direction
• Contribute to business cases, estimation activities and delivery planning
• Provide technical leadership across multiple suppliers and delivery teams
• Support agile delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Act as a trusted technical advisor within a complex stakeholder environment

Required Experience Proven experience working as a Technical Architect, Lead Technical Architect or Solution Architect Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs and integration patterns Experience working closely with engineering and development teams Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, including AWS, Azure or GCP Experience creating architecture documentation and technical design artefacts Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Experience operating within large-scale transformation or digital delivery programmes Comfortable balancing strategic architecture thinking with practical technical delivery Desirable Experience Active SC Clearance Previous experience delivering within UK Government or public sector environments Experience working across multi-supplier delivery programmes Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF Experience using modelling techniques and tools such as UML or ArchiMate What's on Offer 12-month contract with strong extension potential Remote-first engagement with limited travel requirements Opportunity to contribute to a major Government transformation programme Collaborative environment with significant stakeholder exposure and technical ownership
