Summary: The Technical Solutions Architect role involves designing and delivering innovative ICT solutions that align with business needs throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires collaboration with stakeholders to translate requirements into effective solution designs while ensuring technical governance and quality. The role is pivotal in shaping the organization's technological landscape and involves oversight during implementation and post-implementation reviews. The contract is for 12 to 18 months and is classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop enterprise architecture models that are consistent and coherent across projects, ensuring effective reuse of materials.
  • Lead architecture development assignments across projects and programmes, promoting technical innovation and working closely with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into solution designs, options papers, and implementation assessments aligned with Enterprise Architecture.
  • Support ICT Leads in creating business cases and defining technical requirements and ITT documentation.
  • Act as Technical Design Authority for ICT solutions within the DF Data Management Capability project.
  • Ensure technical functionality goals are met and solutions are seamlessly delivered into production.
  • Advise on governance arrangements for architecture and technology selection, ensuring removal of redundant technologies.
  • Present tactical and strategic benefits of architectural governance to justify investments.
  • Scope and define technical evaluation projects, assessing requirements and recommending solutions aligned with strategic vision.
  • Provide oversight during implementation and participate in post-implementation reviews.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert for technical delivery, frameworks, methods, and tools.
  • Offer technical expertise and high-level estimates during pipeline planning and initiation phases.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with suppliers and evaluate vendor offerings for ROI and lifetime cost of ownership.
  • Research emerging technologies and assess opportunities for reuse within ICT services.
  • Ensure gradual handover to production, including design and system test documentation, and participate in ITIL service delivery processes.
  • Verify technical quality throughout the project lifecycle and produce documentation for product acceptance.

Key Skills:

  • Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent job experience.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL Service Management principles.
  • Ability to create end-to-end solution designs for new services or solutions.
  • Full lifecycle experience developing architectural views in accordance with frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.
  • Expertise in Core Cloud platforms, migrations, architecture design, and security/compliance.
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to present and communicate complex ideas clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach and strong team collaboration skills.

About the Role

  • Strong commercial awareness and flexibility in working practices.
