Key Responsibilities:
- Define and own the technical architecture across the programme, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to NHS standards and frameworks
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, setting direction on tooling, patterns, and best practice
- Design and oversee cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring high availability, performance, and security
- Drive Java-based development standards and architectural decisions across the codebase
- Engage with NHS stakeholders and third party suppliers to align technical approaches with programme requirements
- Identify and manage technical risk, producing documentation and recommendations to support governance and assurance processes
- Support technical onboarding of new team members and suppliers
- Contribute to technical planning, roadmaps, and delivery timelines
Key Skills:
- NHS experience is essential
- Strong Java and architecture background, with experience leading Java-based programmes at scale
- Deep AWS expertise across core services and well-architected principles
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect on complex digital programmes
