Technical Architect - DataCentre Exit

Summary: The Technical Architect role focuses on facilitating the migration of systems and applications to Azure in response to a datacentre closure within the Defence & Security sector. The position requires collaboration with a team to expedite the exit process while ensuring adherence to deadlines under pressure. Candidates will lead discovery meetings and make strategic treatment decisions for applications. This is a 6-month contract position that operates outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate in a team to expedite datacentre exit and obsolescence programmes
• Assess, plan, design, and migrate systems and applications to Azure
• Identify and determine treatment decisions for non-business application services
• Conduct and lead discovery and assessment meetings with business app owners and stakeholders
• Make swift determinations for treatment strategies
• Lead and support the team using a 7R's approach
• Reverse engineer application/system architecture through business stakeholder engagement
• Ensure adherence to deadlines while operating under significant pace and pressure

Key Skills:

• Experience in datacentre exit and obsolescence programmes
• Strong technical infrastructure and security technology experience
• Proficiency in leading and supporting teams in discovery and assessment phases
• Ability to conduct and lead meetings with business app owners and stakeholders
• Experience in application architecture both source and target
• Experience in migrating to Azure and understanding of cloud architectures and capabilities
• Ability to operate under significant pace and pressure
• A beneficial mix of infrastructure, application, and security experience
• Experience in business stakeholder engagement to reverse engineer application/system architecture
