(W2) Contract to Hire - 100% Remote role
Title: Tech Lead Data Engineer (AWS, Python, Terraform, S3)
- Must want a technical lead role: Comfortable owning technical decisions, guiding implementation, and managing stakeholders. This is not an individual contributor role.
- Strong hands-on AWS and Python experience: Databricks and dbt are not required.
- Show personal ownership: Give specific examples of architecture decisions, troubleshooting, and improvements they personally drove.
- Communicate clearly: Explain what they did, why they chose that approach, and the outcome.
The environment is heavily AWS-native and currently leverages Python, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, Aurora/Postgres, Terraform, and GitHub Actions. Data arrives primarily through batch/vendor feeds and moves through an ingestion workflow that performs validation and transformation before publishing full and incremental datasets for downstream consumption.
