Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Teamcenter environments (Rich Client, Active Workspace, RAC) including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades across development, test, and production landscapes.
- Manage Teamcenter architecture components: 4-tier architecture, Web Tier (Java EE app servers such as WebLogic/WebSphere/Tomcat), Server Manager, Pool Manager, FSC (File Service Client/Server), and Volume Management.
- Perform database administration tasks in coordination with DBA teams (Oracle/SQL Server) including TC_DATA schema maintenance, backup/restore coordination, and performance tuning.
- Configure and maintain BMIDE (Business Modeler IDE) customizations, data model extensions, and templates.
- Manage user administration, security, access control lists (ACLs), roles, groups, and organization structures within Teamcenter.
- Plan and execute Teamcenter version upgrades, patches, and migrations, including test planning and rollback strategies.
- Monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and perform root-cause analysis for incidents; manage escalations within SLA-driven support environments.
- Support integrations between Teamcenter and other enterprise systems (ERP such as SAP, CAD tools like NX/SolidWorks/CATIA, MES, and other PLM-adjacent tools).
- Develop and maintain system documentation: configuration guides, runbooks, disaster recovery procedures, and change management records.
- Work directly with clients as part of a services engagement — gathering requirements, advising on best practices, and presenting technical recommendations.
- Support pre-sales activities including scoping, effort estimation, and technical solutioning for Teamcenter engagements.
- Mentor and guide junior administrators and support engineers; contribute to internal knowledge bases and delivery playbooks.
- Ensure compliance with data security, licensing, and audit requirements across managed Teamcenter instances.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience administering Siemens Teamcenter in enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in Teamcenter 4-tier architecture, installation, and configuration (Teamcenter 11.x/12.x/13.x or later).
- Proficiency in BMIDE for data model customization and deployment.
- Working knowledge of application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, or Tomcat) and Java EE deployment.
- Experience with relational databases (Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server) as they relate to Teamcenter.
- Solid understanding of Teamcenter security model: ACLs, access rules, roles, and organization/group structures.
- Experience with Teamcenter upgrades, patching, and environment migrations (on-prem and/or cloud).
- Familiarity with scripting for automation (Shell, Perl, or Python) and Teamcenter utilities (e.g., FMS, TCXML import/export).
- Experience working in a client services, consulting, or managed-services delivery model, with strong client communication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and root-cause analysis skills.
