Northcote M&E is a recruitment company specialising in mechanical and electrical engineering roles within the construction industry.
The Opportunity
You will be responsible for delivering a shortlist of 10 qualified, screened and interested candidates who meet an agreed job specification.
This is a fixed-fee freelance assignment rather than a salaried position.
Before the project begins, we will agree on the vacancy requirements, candidate criteria, delivery deadline and fixed project fee.
In addition to the fixed fee, you will receive an agreed percentage of the recruitment fee for each candidate you source who is successfully placed with a client.
There may also be an opportunity for ongoing or full-time work based on performance and future business requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review the vacancy brief and understand its essential requirements
- Develop an effective candidate-sourcing strategy
- Identify and approach suitable candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, databases and professional networks
- Conduct initial screening conversations
- Confirm each candidate’s experience, location, availability, salary expectations and interest
- Obtain consent to submit candidates’ details to our clients
- Maintain accurate candidate records
- Provide candidate profiles, CVs and screening notes
- Deliver a shortlist of 10 qualified candidates by the agreed deadline
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in recruitment, talent acquisition or candidate sourcing
- Strong knowledge of LinkedIn and other sourcing platforms
- Confident communication and candidate-screening skills
- Ability to assess candidates against clearly defined selection criteria
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Experience recruiting within construction, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering is desirable
- Access to appropriate sourcing tools and candidate networks
Deliverables
- Each candidate included in the shortlist must:
- Meet the agreed essential criteria
- Have been contacted and initially screened
- Understand the role, salary and working arrangements
- Have confirmed genuine interest in the opportunity
- Have agreed to their CV and details being submitted
- Be available within the required timeframe
- Candidates who withdraw or are found not to meet the agreed essential criteria before submission will not count towards the total of 10.
Payment and Placement Commission
The successful specialist will receive:
A fixed project fee to be discussed for delivering 10 qualified, screened and interested candidates
An additional 10% of the recruitment fee received by Northcote M&E for each candidate they source who is successfully placed
Candidate ownership, replacement requirements and commission terms will be agreed in writing before work begins.
