Summary: The role of Tableau Developer, Business Intelligence involves building and enhancing Tableau dashboards for a global hospitality company. The position requires a strong background in Business Intelligence and Tableau, with responsibilities including data governance, documentation, and collaboration with IT. The developer will work independently and make significant decisions impacting the organization’s data insights. This is a contract position that offers a fully remote working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build dashboards from the ground up, implementing creative design, latest functionalities, and an organized layout to create views that are refined and easy for users to navigate.
- Build advanced calculations in Tableau to accommodate the need for complex requirements from the business.
- Data governance and documentation post-build will also be critical in ensuring user adoption.
- Develop and test Tableau dashboards based on requirements provided.
- Document dashboard logic and ensure data accuracy.
- Enhance existing data sets and/or dashboards to support optimal performance and bug fixes.
- Work with IT to coordinate and implement Tableau-based workflows.
- Involves significant decision-making authority, particularly in the development and enhancement of Tableau dashboards.
- Responsible for validating data, ensuring accuracy, and documenting logic within dashboards.
- Offer input to the BI team on building data tables optimally for Tableau reporting needs.
- Demands a high level of autonomy.
- Expected to work independently, be a critical and creative thinker, and be able to adjust well to shifting priorities and meet competing demands.
- Responsible for collaborating with other Analytics functions and BI team members.

Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, Information System, Business, and other closely related degrees preferred.
- 3+ years of Business Intelligence experience.
- 3+ Tableau experience required.
- SQL experience preferred.
- Tableau certification a plus.
- Python experience a plus.
- Ability to synthesize disparate and complex sources of information and create value-added insight and perspective.
- Solid understanding of underlying data and the implications of data structures is required, as well as the ability to communicate to members of IT and the data team in coordinating changes required in both data content and layout.
- Strong written communication skills and experience with logic documentation.
