Summary: The Tableau Architect cum Administrator is responsible for leading Tableau Server installations and configurations, optimizing server performance, and collaborating with various teams to troubleshoot issues. The role requires hands-on experience with Tableau clusters and nodes, as well as proficiency in performance monitoring tools. The position is remote and classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Led at least three end-to-end Tableau Server installations and configurations.
  • Hands-on experience in setting up and managing Tableau clusters and nodes, including VizQL and Backgrounder services.
  • Evaluate existing Tableau platform architecture, logs, and configurations to identify bottlenecks and propose strategic recommendations for server optimization and enhancements.
  • Collaborate effectively with Network, Tableau Administration, and Tableau Engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
  • Utilize Nextthink and Dynatrace for in-depth performance analysis and monitoring of the Tableau environment.
  • Address persistent dashboard loading time issues (simple to complex) across our 12-node, 768 vCPU Azure cloud environment, even after the recent upgrade to version 2024.2.10.
  • Investigate and resolve complex issues such as cumulative session instance buildup that Tableau engineers have been unable to fully address.
