Summary: Myticas Consulting is seeking a Systems Administrator specializing in Linux and Storage Administration for a contract role. The position involves maintaining and upgrading Linux systems and EMC storage systems while collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance software performance. The role requires off-hour support and technical assistance as needed. The candidate will also be responsible for documenting procedures and evaluating emerging technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, monitor, upgrade and maintain Linux hardware and software
- Install, monitor, upgrade and maintain EMC storage system(s)
- Work with business analysts, project managers, developers, and clients to improve software performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
- Initiate system administration procedures, such as backup and recovery
- Provide off-hour patching of Linux operating systems and applications
- Provide on and off-hour technical assistance and on-call support as required
- Document on and off-hour work performed
- Support various environments including Development, Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and Staging Production
- Research and evaluate existing and emerging technologies
Key Skills:
- Experience with Linux systems administration
- Knowledge of EMC storage systems
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems
- Experience with system performance analysis and improvement

The resource must perform the following tasks:
- Install, monitor, upgrade and maintain Linux hardware and software
- Install, monitor, upgrade and maintain EMC storage system(s)
- Install, monitor, upgrade and maintain EMC storage system(s) operating system
- Work with business analysts, project managers, developers and clients and stakeholders to maintain and improve software performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
- Initiate system administration procedures, such as backup and/or recovery, analyze system performance and recommend improvements
- Provide off-hour patching of the Linux operating systems and/or applications for all environments as required by the
Technical Requirements
- Perform off-hour work on production environments as required by the Technical Authority
- Provide on and off-hour technical assistance as required by the Technical Authority, provide on and off-hour-on-call support as required by the Technical Authority
- Provide documentation related to on and off-hour work being performed
- Provide ongoing support for various environments, at a minimum, in the form of:
- Development
- Testing
- User Acceptance Testing
- Staging Production
- Research and evaluate existing and emerging technologies (emerging technology is a new technology that is currently being developed or will be developed within the next five to ten years) by interacting with vendors and other technical experts
