Summary: The New Store IT team is seeking an IT System Build Specialist to manage the technical aspects of store system builds, including new stores, relocations, and POS system changes. This role involves providing support and guidance to on-site technicians and store teams, ensuring the functionality of POS systems and related applications. The Specialist will collaborate with various partners for system builds and testing, while also managing operational issues and reporting. Light regional travel is expected as part of the responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes appropriate tools and processes to monitor the progress of the system builds and network connections.
  • Track and manage risk and issues affecting store operations at assigned stores; appropriately escalating to management and program stakeholders, as necessary.
  • Lead and oversee building and configuring store server, installation and configuration of store systems applications, register computers, credit card devices, printers, handheld devices, network equipment, wi-fi access points and store phone equipment.
  • Provide oversight and leadership for technicians, including third party vendor partners, for depot (remote) system builds, depot testing, onsite setup, onsite detailed testing.
  • Provide concise input when requested to assist in preparation of status reports, post hypercare debriefs and operational handoff documents.
  • Maintain and update status of assigned tasks and stores as directed.

Key Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server OS as application platform.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of network circuits, IP addressing, and routers and switches.
  • Working knowledge to troubleshoot Windows based computer peripheral connections.
  • Working knowledge of Information Security concepts and tools.
  • Working knowledge of and experience with Service Now is preferred.
  • Detail oriented and able to track multiple tasks at once.
  • Critical thinking, facilitation, and negotiation skills.

SUMMARY
The New Store IT team is looking for an IT System Build Specialist. In this role, you will oversee all technical aspects of store system builds for new stores, store relocations, and POS system changes (conversions). This oversight will include providing technical support and guidance for on-site install technicians and store team members during build, test and opening. Light regional travel should be expected.

The New Store IT System Build Specialist is accountable for all technical aspects of the installation, configuration, testing and daily operations capability of point of sale (POS) system, POS supporting applications and in-store devices. To accomplish these goals, the Build Specialist will collaborate with internal and remote partners for system builds, initial testing, on-site setup and final testing for their assigned stores. This will include working across the enterprise, outside of IT, as needed to ensure store system’s functionality. Lastly, the Build Specialist will provide concise input on operational issues, recurring status reports, process updates, debriefs and operational handoffs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• 6 to 8 years’ minimum relevant IT experience required.
• Experience in Retail Store Systems setup, deployment and / or support required.
• Degree in Information Technology related field OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Retail IT Operations Support experience preferred.
• Light travel, estimated at 2 days per quarter, will be required.
• Occasional weekend and after-hours coverage will be required.
